Scholarship Opportunities

China offers several funding programmes for international applicants. We identify the ones you genuinely qualify for.

Chinese Government Scholarship (CSC)

Fully funded options covering tuition, university accommodation, medical insurance, and a monthly living stipend

Provincial & City Government Scholarships

Regional funding offered by governments such as Shanghai, Jiangsu and Zhejiang to attract global talent.

University Presidential Scholarships

Merit-based awards from individual universities covering full or partial tuition fees.

International Chinese Language Teachers Scholarship

For students seeking specialised immersion in Chinese language and teaching methodology.

Intakes & Application Timelines

Chinese universities operate two annual intakes. Applying early significantly improves both admission and scholarship outcomes.

Autumn Intake (Primary)

Classes begin in September. Applications generally run from November to May.

Spring Intake (Secondary)

Classes begin in March. Applications generally run from September to December.

Scholarship deadlines usually close months before university admission deadlines. Starting early is the single biggest factor within your control.

Type of Visa

A China study visa allows international students to legally enter and remain in China for academic study at recognised institutions. There are two categories:

X1 Study Visa

For long-term academic programmes exceeding 180 days, including MBBS, BDS and all degree programmes. X1 holders must convert to a residence permit within 30 days of arrival in China.

X2 Study Visa

For short-term courses of 180 days or less, such as language programmes and exchange semesters.

How Study Sphere Advisors Guides You

Five stages, one counsellor, from first consultation to your first day on campus

Initial Consultation & Profile Assessment

Our counsellors review your academic background, career objectives and budget, then match you with suitable Chinese universities and the scholarship programmes you are eligible for.

Document Preparation & Eligibility Verification

We verify and assemble your transcripts, recommendation letters, study plan, medical checks and any required entrance scores so that your file meets official university criteria.

Official University & Scholarship Submission

As direct university partners, we process applications through university admissions offices directly, ensuring priority review and error-free filing.

JW201 / JW202 & Visa Processing

Once you are accepted, we secure your official visa application form (JW201 or JW202) and guide you through the complete X1 or X2 student visa application.

Pre-Departure & Arrival Support

Comprehensive pre-departure briefings, accommodation arrangements and local orientation guidance for a smooth transition to campus life in China.

Processing Duration

The China study visa is typically processed within 7–15 working days after submission, depending on the embassy, application accuracy and visa category. The preparation stage before submission, document attestation, medical examination and JW202 issuance, takes considerably longer, which is why we recommend beginning your file at least 8 to 12 weeks before your intake date.

Payment Terms

Our fee structure is shared in writing before you commit, so you always know what is due and when.

Advance Payment

An initial instalment at the start of the process, covering profile assessment, university shortlisting and application preparation.

On Admission Confirmation

The next instalment becomes due once your official admission letter and JW202 form have been issued by the university.

Final Payment

The balance is paid after your visa is stamped, before pre-departure services begin.

Exact figures are confirmed during your free consultation. University tuition and hostel fees are paid directly to the institution, not to us.
